Life and Times of a Lil’ Black Dress

Last weekend was the unveiling of brand new clothes by Alaska Metropolitan of OPIUM Everyday.  If it wasn’t for the fact that she had a wonderful special going on the day of the show–every outfit marked at 100L–I would have easily gone broke.  I gathered five fantastic outfits for 500L and believe you me, you will be seeing them all!  Having just visited her newest store in Le Zoo, a lot of the items are available as separates, many under 100L, so still a deal for the quality.

One of my faves was this L.B.D. (Little Black Dress, if you didn’t know) called “Ami”.  Beatiful and basic on it’s own with scalloped hemline and semi-transparent texture, at the show it included a top from an outfit Alaska is still putting the finishing touches on called “Brigitta”.

Pairing it up with these brand new multi-purpose, oh-so-essential “belts” from Nephilaine Protagonist of PixelDolls.  I want MORE, MORE, MORE of these!  They can be purchased in all layers and have since been released in more color options.

I heard a smart tip tonight on E!; I think it was from the chick who plays Serena on Gossip Girl (…shuddap!).  The last thing to do before walking out the door: remove one accessory, THEN you are ready to go!  I totally need to remember this as I tend to load on as much as I possibly can.  For this post I tried to keep it simple and let the clothes speak for themselves.

  1. Heh – actually, that’s a classic quote from Coco Chanel. Wherever you hear it, though, it’s good advice.

  2. LOL well I figured it was originally uttered from someone a bit more…well, significant…than Serena Van Der Woodsen ;-)
    Thanks!
