Taking Up Dairy

Odd name for a blog post (even for me) but please let me explain. It’s basically from the best description of a Nevermore skin I ever heard. The word used was buttery, and it’s stuck in my mind ever since. Now usually I don’t do new things, at least not in the ‘OMG it’s NEW!’ way anyway. But when I espied Callie Clines pictureless post about the arrival of the Nevermore Hybrid 3 skins on the feed I did very nearly wet myself.

For the ill informed I shall tell you this. The first skin I bought in SL was a nevermore. I remember the posters that adorned the walls saying Hybrid 3 coming soon. I felt in a quandry, I wanted a skin but should I wait? Well to be honest I’m bloody glad I didn’t wait. The longest ever engagement to a skin had already begun before I got there, but now, nearly two years after I rezzed into SL in shaft of light that instantly fell off and crashed me, the hybrid 3 is out.

I did have my reserves. I mean skins have come a long way between Santana’s releases and I desperately hoped that this wouldn’t be a skin that didn’t reach the new bars. I needn’t have worried however. As, put bluntly, this skin is the bollocks.  With the exception of the ears (And who does nice ears?) I can’t find a fault on it.

So there, gushingness from me. I’m terribly sorry and normalness will return. But fook it, I’ve been waiting far too long for this.

NSFW picture and SLurl after the cut, which won’t work on Fashion Planet. Meh…

  1. *claps*
Nevermore was my second skin in SL and I wore Hybrid’s exclusively for prolly at least a year. Those “Hybrid III-coming soon” signs had been up for so damn long and I remember going over there quite often in the hopes that they were out. I was shocked to see Santana FINALLY released them!
I had same reservations as you, Kitty: that the skin creations have come such a long way throughout SL in the time we have been waiting.
I picked up some demos last night that I have yet to take a really good look at (it was late)…I am honestly a bit perturbed by the lack of demos for ALL the makeups, and it will prolly hold me back. Santana, IIRC, has always set her demos like that, with only a small sampling per tone, and me no likeyyyy!!! I want to see ALL on me before making a decision.

  2. I just upgraded from II to III and I am thrilled. Like the fact that they re more mod than before re skin tone and I am between Spring and Summer. Kept the same look and the same basic make up. I got tons of compliments and “where did you get your skin” IMs before and this is just simply BETTER. Same look but cleaner with more definition. Many gold stars. Doing happy dance. Love the prim lashes too.

  3. Oh my god. lol Ok, um hi there. This is Santana. :o Thank you for the positive replies. I feel totally bad about the long wait, but RL issues kept me away (sickness/divorce/family deaths/etc) and so every time I started the prototype, something kicked me in the proverbial nads and I scrapped everything in my deep blue funks. =\ Thank Carl of the Vanity Universe skin fair for iming me every fekkin day practically to make me join the skin fair, because in the last three weeks leading up to the expo, I had managed to make this prototype and crank out 1200 skins for it. o.o; As for not offering demos per each face, there is a GOOD reason why I do not – Thieves. I have been told point blank by a notorious intercept thief that I am SMART for not doing that because that is how he and others rip so many faces off of designers without paying a dime. They gather the demos and photoshop the word “demo” out and resell them! I was mortified upon hearing this, and that is why I do not offer those demos. I apologize if it is a Prussian Roulette for folks, but after being ripped off so many times, I am not going to make it easy for those asshats. In any case, glad you like the skins, and I was surprised to find this post! lol
