Relay For Life – Be Careful!

So, in light of all of the content theft in our fashion industry, I thought it would be a good idea to edumacate everyone on the official Relay For Life “stuff” out there. Yes, we’ve heard rumors of rip offs and other not-so-nice things. I can’t tell you what those folks are up to, but I can tell you how to be 100% certain every single L you donate goes directly to the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life of Second Life.

Ways to be sure your donation goes directly to the ACS:

1. Only pay your hard-earned linden dollars to official vendors, kiosks or pledge cards (pictured below)
2. Watch chat for a green thank you message from ACS
3. Ensure the creator is the official “created by.” The low prim winning entry was created by Davina Glitter, the high prim entry was created by Khashai Steinbeck, and the Vendor object was created by Madison Donnelly and pledge cards were by David Jacobs.

Red flags for fund raising that is not allowed:
1. The owner of the kiosk keeps a percentage
2. You have to pay to get a kiosk to put out at your place of business
3. The logo is not the trademarked, official RFL and/or ACS logo
4. The object/kiosk/vendor is anything other than one of the 4 listed below.

Here is a picture of the official vendor:

When in doubt contact RC Mars, Fayandria Foley, David Jacobs, Madison Donnelly, Tayzia Abattoir, or Synergy Devonshire in world, or email Madison at madison dot donnelly at gmail.com.
